Introduction to the RC522 Chip:

The MF RC522 is a highly integrated read / write card chip used in 13.56MHz communication. It is a good option for the development of smart meters and portable devices. The MF RC522 uses advanced modulation concepts and vice versa and fully integrates all types of passive communication methods and protocols at 13.56MHz.

Supports 14443A compliant transponder signals. The digital part deals with frame detection and ISO14443A error. In addition, it supports the fast CRYPTO1 encryption algorithm and checks the MIFARE product series.

The MFRC522 supports the MIFARE series of high speed contactless communication with bidirectional data rates up to 424kbit / s. As a new member of the 13.56MHz high integration read and write family, the MF RC522 has many similarities to the MF RC500 and MF RC530, in addition to many features and differences.

It uses SPI mode to communicate with the host, which helps to reduce wiring, PCB board size and cost.
